India – Job board Aasaanjobs rebrands to Waah Jobs

Online classifieds platform OLX Group announced it has decided to rebrand it’s job board Aasaanjobs to Waah Jobs.

OLX group has been operating in India under two brands in the blue collar staffing and recruitment segment, OLX People and Aasaanjobs.

“The rebranding to Waah Jobs helps in better alignment to the company’s value proposition of providing trusted jobs from verified employers to the candidates. The new brand name also reflects the ‘wow’ experience it wants to create for the job seekers on the platform,” the company said in a statement.

Waah Jobs seek to leverage India’s rich human resources by making hiring easy for all parties involved - candidates, employers as well as recruitment consultants. It aims to grow the number of monthly active job seekers on the platform by 10 times over the next 5 years by simplifying job discovery & efficient match-making between jobs and candidates. 

The new name for the job board, Waah Jobs has been chosen with deliberation and research. Waah is an informal, colloquial and a popular Urdu-Hindi word. In the literary sense, it’s Hindi for the English word ‘wow’. Waah is exclamatory in tone and is used for expressing happiness or appreciation. The group added that it is well understood and spoken all across the country.

The group also published a new logo to go with the rebranding.

“The recruitment sector is seeing a revival led by industries such as technology, startups, healthcare, logistics and other in demand sectors and will continue to accelerate as the confidence to open businesses continues to grow this year,” the group stated. “This new brand and evolving positioning illustrates our growing ambition on the market”.

Founded in 2014, Aasaanjobs is owned by the OLX Group and is a job board for blue and grey collar workers across industries. Waah Jobs provides a two-way matchmaking algorithm that filters and connects candidates and employers. The brand's core aim is to formalise the unorganized job sector in India and provide gainful employment for millions in the ever-expanding space. Waah Jobs envisages to provide a highly customized user experience to the entry level job seekers across major industries.
