India – Indian Staffing Federation to expand representation to facility management and security services companies

The Indian Staffing Federation announced Wednesday that it is expanding its representation to include facility management and security services companies in addition to staffing firms. The organization said it will now represent employers of approximately 18.5 million Indian workers.

Indian Staffing Federation President Lohit Bhatia said the move is a step toward driving formal employment in India.

“Today [the] staffing industry is estimated at nearly 3.3 million workforce, which totals nearly 10 billion USD revenue and is estimated to grow to approximately USD 60 billion or INR 450,000 crore as current exchange rates by 2030,” Bhatia said. “Within next decade, [the] Indian Staffing Federation and its members at an estimated 50% of the representative voice will be appx USD 30 billion or INR 225,000 crore.”

India Staffing Federation VP Pramod Pachisia also discussed the benefit to formal work.

“The promise of decent work, social security, financial inclusion, career progression are the key pillars of this federation and its members,” Pachisia said. “The expansion only broadens the area whereby the pillars will be guiding light for security services and facility management organisations as well, helping to drive overall formal employment across.”
