India – Formal employment sector to create 192,000 new flexi-jobs in formal sector (The Economic Times)

The Indian Staffing Federation, the apex body for flexi staffing, has said that ‘flexi-staffing’ has registered substantial growth in the country with around 192,000 new flexi-jobs being created in 2022 in the Indian formal employment sector, reports The Economic Times. The Indian Staffing Federation (ISF) President Lohit Bhatia said, “We are happy to announce that Indian Staffing Federation member companies have contributed a substantial growth of 192,000 new flexi jobs to India's formal employment sector.” The Federation has 110 member companies, including global companies. Bhatia said that Federation employs in Manufacturing sector, IT, ITeS (IT enabled services), Logistics, Banking, Retail, Telecom and aims to offers formal employment, where EPF (Employees’ Provident Fund) and other facilities are provided.

According to the Federation, the October-December 2022 quarter witnessed a 0.8% increase in new flexible job opportunities. The industry witnessed growth of 16.2% in Oct-Dec 2022 as compared to the same quarter in 2021, it said.
