Job ads on job board Seek Australia saw an uptick of 35.8% in February 2022 when compared to February 2021 and rose 41.4% when compared to February 2019.

On a month-to-month basis Seek job ads were up 2.2%. 

Seek also published applications per job ad data for the month of January. The research showed that applications per job ad were down 2.4% over the month in January 2022 and were down 37.9% compared to the same month in 2019.

By state, Victoria led year-on-year job ad growth with an improvement of 45.0%. This was followed by New South Wales at 38.0%.

When compared to 2019, Tasmania saw the biggest growth at 88.4%.

By industry, the Hospitality and Tourism industry reported the biggest year-on-year gain in February with a 55.6% increase.
