Australia – Recruiter Bluestone shakes up board

08 March 2013

Australia-based staffing company Bluestone Global (BUE:ASX) today announced the appointment of Baljit Singh as chairman of the Group with immediate effect. Mr Singh only joined the board as non-executive director earlier this year.

Bluestone recently rebranded from Humanis Group, which was among the top 20 largest staffing firms in Australia in 2011. The firm launched a strategic partnership with HCMI Group last year which Mr Singh developed into a global business.

Mr Singh has over twenty five years’ experience in resource management, healthcare education, information technology, consulting and financial services. He takes over from Tony Leibowitz who has been appointed as deputy chairman. Mr Leibowitz will be responsible for driving the firm’s recruitment business and corporate strategy in Australia.

Bluestone global managing director, Rabieh Krayem, said: “Having the skills and wealth of industry experience of both Baljit and Tony leading the board will enable the Group to continue to develop its national footprint and broaden its geographical reach beyond Australia.”

Last month, Staffing Industry Analysts reported that Bluestone’s half-year revenue grew +1% to AUD 165.4 million (USD 171.5 million) despite lower demand for temporary employment services.
