Australia – Ignite provides FY 2021 trading and strategic update indicating profitable performance

Australian recruitment firm Ignite (IGN:ASX) provided a trading and strategy update for FY 2021 during its annual general meeting yesterday.

The group had reported revenue fell 16.3% in the six months ended 30 June 2020 to AUD 127.9 million (USD 94.4 million).

Ignite said its strategic focus is on retaining existing clients, the acquisition of commercially viable new customers, identifying viable bolt-on acquisitions created by Covid-19, operating its Australian and New Zealand businesses and engaging and developing its staff.

In its trading update, the group said its People Services is profitable and the pipeline of opportunities is growing.

Within its Specialist Recruitment segment the group said in the Australian Capital Territory, its exposure to predominantly federal government clients underpin a strong performance. In New South Wales and Victoria, the Specialist Recruitment segment is now profitable and is focusing on rebuilding its team. Western Australia was also small but profitable. Its Queensland operation was integrated into the Australian Capital Territory operation.

The On Demand Services segment is under new leadership and is profitable. The group added that post-Covid, it is starting to see an improved pipeline of opportunities with improved client confidence. Ignite said its core focus is on rebuilding the pipeline and converting sales opportunities.
