02 February 2022

An Australian court fined a union and one of its officials for trying to cause a construction contractor to end an agreement with a labour-hire firm employing 40 workers who were members of another union, ABC reported. The union being fined — the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union — hoped to get a new labour-hire firm that had an agreement in place with it. The construction firm was working on an upgrade and expansion of the Coffs Harbour Base Hospital.
