Average advertised salaries in Australia rose by 3.8% over the year to August 2022, according to the Seek Advertised Salary Index.

The 3.8% annual growth was a slight comedown from the 4.1% annual growth in July.

Advertised salary growth has also slowed month-on-month, growing by 0.3% in August.

On a quarterly basis, advertised salaries rose by 0.9% from May to August.

Seek Senior Economist, Matt Cowgill, said,  “The latest data from the SEEK Advertised Salary Index suggests that while advertised salaries are still growing, the pace of growth has slowed in recent months.”

The Seek Advertised Salary Index measures the change in advertised salaries over time for jobs posted on Seek in Australia, removing much of the effect of compositional change.
