19 August 2021

Australia-based B2C talent platform Airtasker reported revenue for the full year ended 30 June 2021 of AUD 26.6 million (USD 19.0 million), this was an increase of 38% year on year and ahead of the prospectus forecast of AUD 24.5 million.

The group also reported gross marketplace volume of AUD 153.1 million (USD 109.7 million), exceeding prospectus forecast of AUD 143.7 million (USD 102.9 million) and up 35% year on year.

(AUD millions) FY 2021 FY 2020 Change FY 2021 (USD millions)
Revenue 26.6 19.3 38.0% 19.0
Gross Profit 24.8 17.9 38.7% 17.7
Underlying pro forma EBITDA 0.0 -4.0 - 0.0
Underlying pro forma net loss -2.3 -5.3 - -1.6

Airtasker provides a platform enabling users to outsource everyday tasks.

Underlying pro forma EBITDA removes share-based payments expense, non-recurring capital raising and acquisition costs, and government subsidies (to calculate underlying EBITDA), and then adds listed company costs that were not incurred in FY 2021 and FY 2020, as if the group was listed for a full year (to calculate underlying pro forma EBITDA).

The UK marketplace accelerated with gross marketplace volume up 232% year-on-year and 93% quarter-on-quarter.

Organic growth accelerated in the UK as a result of Covid-19 recovery tailwinds and a strong return on the company’s initial marketing investments.

In the US, Airtasker’s acquisition and integration of Zaarly is progressing well with planned market launches in the US cities of Kansas City, Dallas and Miami in H1 2022.

Airtasker Co-founder and CEO Tim Fung said, “It’s been a super awesome year and I’m really stoked to see the Airtasker marketplace create more job and income opportunities than ever. Now that our Australian marketplace is operating cash flow positive - and with our UK marketplace starting to flourish - we’re really excited to get to work on international growth!”

Shares in Airtasker closed at AUD 1.01 (USD 0.72), up 1.0% on the day and 14.77% above the 52 week low of AUD 0.88 (USD 0.63) set on 23 March 2021. The company has a market cap of AUD 414.03 million (USD 296.62 million).
