Australia – Airtasker full year and Q4 marketplace performance exceeds forecast

05 July 2021

Australia-based B2C talent platform Airtasker announced strong marketplace performance in Q4 FY21, despite the softer end to the period due to Covid-19 related restrictions and lockdowns in major capital city markets across Australia.

The group reported full year 2021 Gross Marketplace Volume (GMV) of AUD 153.1 million (USD 115.4 million) exceeding FY21 prospectus forecast of AUD 143.7 million (USD 108.3 million) and revised GMV guidance provided (April 2021) of AUD 148-152 million (USD 111.5 million to 114.5 million).

GMV for the fourth quarter of FY21 was AUD 39.4 million (USD 29.7 million) representing a 39.1% increase compared to the same period in the prior year.

“The GMV outperformance has been achieved while maintaining costs below prospectus forecast levels for the full year,” the company stated.

“The 14-day lockdown in Melbourne at the end of May 2021 saw a temporary decrease in marketplace activity followed by a sharp recovery,” the group stated. “More recent lockdowns in Sydney and other capital cities are expected to have a temporary impact on Q1 FY22 but given the strong performance into the lockdowns and sharp marketplace recoveries previously seen, no impact is expected to Airtasker’s full year FY22 outlook.”

Airtasker stated that it will release full year results for FY21 in August 2021.
