Asia Pacific – Funding rounds announced by HR tech firms Employment Hero, Darwinbox and Manatal

Funding rounds were announced by HRIS firm Employment Hero, HR software provider Darwinbox and recruitment software firm Manatal.

Employment Hero

HRIS firm Employment Hero announced a funding found of AUD 181 million (USD 129 million), TechCrunch reported. The round was led by Seek Investments. Employment Hero also acquired KeyPay, a workforce management payroll platform.

Employment Hero’s offerings include an employer-of-record service and PEO service that enables clients to hire employees in markets outside of where they are located, according to the company’s website. It also offers an applicant tracking system and digital onboarding. The company’s products include reporting and analytics as well. Rostering, shift management and time and attendance are also features.

Employment Hero is based in Sydney, Australia.

Darwinbox

Darwinbox, a human resources software firm, announced a USD 72 million funding round that values the company at more than $1 billion. The round was led by investment firm Technology Crossover Ventures with participation from existing investors. The company has raised more than $110 million with this round.

Darwinbox’s functionality includes candidate sourcing, enabling users to post job ads through the platform. It also has organisation management, time and attendance, remote check-in for workers, digital onboarding, travel and expenses and other features.

Darwinbox is based in Hyderabad, India. The company plans to launch US operations this year.

“This investment energises our mission to continue building technology that enables organisations to unlock the highest potential of their people,” said Jayant Paleti, co-founder of Darwinbox.

Manatal

Recruitment software firm Manatal announced a USD 5.1 million in a seed funding round last week. The Bangkok, Thailand-based firm provides an applicant tracking system that uses artificial intelligence.

The funding came from venture capital firm Sequoia India along with angel investors.

Manatal was founded in January 2019 by Jeremy Fichet and Yassine Bel Mamoun. Fichet has has held senior positions at firms such as Cdiscount, Orami and Groupon. Bel Mamoun has worked as an IT consultant at Agility Factory, a data scientist at Orami and served as a quantitative research analyst at BNP Paribas.
