Hudson selling Americas IT staffing business

Hudson Global Inc. (NASD: HSON), a New York-based staffing provider, will sell its Americas IT staffing business to Mastech Holdings Inc. (NYSE MKT: MHH).

Terms for the sale of the Americas IT staffing business agreement include a $17 million cash purchase price payable at closing with Hudson retaining the working capital of the Americas IT staffing business. The acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of 2015, subject to customary closing conditions. Mastech plans to maintain all sales and recruiting staff.

“I’m extremely excited about this opportunity, which will materially increase our scale and enhance our abilities to service our collective clients,” said Mastech CEO Kevin Horner. “As I have mentioned on numerous occasions, a selective acquisition is an important component of our long-term growth strategy. With its impressive list of direct retail clients, domestic recruitment focus and adept management talent, Hudson’s US IT staffing business is a compelling fit for Mastech, and I believe it will serve to strengthen our overall business model.”

Both Hudson and Mastech rank on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest US staffing firms.
