Almost 47 percent of the 92 staffing firms that made it on the fastest-growing list reported information technology staffing as one of their top segments, according to the 2013 List of Fastest-Growing Staffing Firms published by Staffing Industry Analysts.

Tata reports strong growth from US

Tata Consultancy Services reported second-quarter revenue rose 21.0 percent on a year-over-year basis to 179.87 billion Indian rupees with strong growth coming from the U.S. As reported in dollars, second quarter revenue was $3.16 billion


Infosys ‘cautiously optimistic’

Infosys Ltd. (NYSE: INFY) revenue rose 17.2 percent year over year  to 112.67 billion Indian rupees in its fiscal first quarter ended June 30.


IGate revenue up 6%, cites positive signs

IGate Corp. (NASD: IGTE) second-quarter revenue rose 5.7 percent year over year to $283.3 million. The Fremont, Calif.-based firm booked more than $600 million in orders, including three multi-year contracts valued at $100 million or more apiece.


CTG reports EMR delays, revenue below expectations

Second-quarter revenue at CTG (NASD: CTG) rose 0.4 percent year over year to $107.1 million, but was below guidance of $111 million and $113 million. The Buffalo, N.Y.-based information technology services company also lowered its full-year 2013 revenue forecast.


IT jobs growth accelerates in US

The number of U.S. information technology jobs rose 0.5 percent in June to reach another all-time high of almost 4.5 million, according to the TechServe Alliance. IT employment increased by 5.7 percent on a year-over-year basis, adding almost 241,700 IT workers.
