On Tuesday 22 January 2013, John Nurthen, Executive Director International Development for Staffing Industry Analysts will be presenting at a Total Workforce Management event in London organized by The Conference Board titled ‘Bringing Contingent Workers inside the Strategic Workforce Planning Tent’.
The event will highlight findings and recommendations from a new research report from The Conference Board called ‘Managing the Total Workforce’ for which Staffing Industry Analysts provided data relating to the contingent market.
As the more forward looking employers have increasingly begun to take a more proactive approach to the sourcing and management of talent, this is a topic that HR executives and procurement professionals cannot afford to ignore. Strategic workforce planning can help to model the projected impacts of different staffing options, determine the optimum balance between the contingent and employee segments, customize the mix in different locations, functions or work streams and project the changing mix over the product or project lifecycle.
John Nurthen said, “While Strategic Workforce Planning normally begins with a focus on the company’s permanent workforce, many have begun to realize that the contingent workforce is a crucial element and that issues surrounding workforce mix are very complex”. For those unable to get to London for the two hour in-person breakfast briefing, a webcast on the same topic is scheduled for 28 January 2013.For more information and to register for either the breakfast briefing or the webinar, please click here.
