Intermountain Staffing, a company that has been in operation since 1969, announced a name change to Ascend Staffing.

The company was founded in Utah and now operates in eight other states. The company noted the “Intermountain” name did not fit at its locations outside of mountain states. In addition, the company noted acquisitions kept their names and branding because of their strong reputations in their service areas. However, the different brands affected company unity.

The company, headquartered in North Salt Lake City, Utah, provides light industrial staffing, nonclinical hospital and entry-level clerical staffing. Targeted sectors include shipping and receiving, food service, mail sorting, warehousing, and hospitality.

“Having one name and brand throughout the company increases unity and helps us move our great purpose and vision forward internally,” according to the company.

Having one name and brand will also help the company integrate upcoming changes, which include a new mobile app.

The change formally took place on Aug. 28.
