Staffing Industry Analysts regularly produces lists of the largest staffing firms across various segments and geographies. These lists can serve as a resource to help identify firms to partner with, to sell to, or to simply see where your firm ranks among the market heavyweights. One recent list, Largest IT Staffing Firms in the UK: 2018 Edition, is SIA’s second annual list specific to the UK IT staffing segment. Our research identified 41 firms that exceeded the report’s £20 million threshold in estimated IT staffing revenue for 2017, including both temporary staffing and place & search.

In addition to revenue, the report provides market share for each listed firm, based on our estimate of the overall segment. Collectively, the 41 firms represent more than 80% of the UK IT staffing market. The five largest companies on the list combined for 35% of UK IT staffing market share and the top 10 represent a 50% share.

Our market share reports serve numerous purposes. One interesting analysis that can be done is to compare the composition of various markets to one another. For example, when contrasted against results from SIA’s Largest IT Staffing Firms in the United States: 2018 Update, we see UK IT staffing is comparatively less fragmented at the high end of its market. This may be attributed to the sheer size of the US, where there are more metropolitan statistical areas yielding opportunities for smaller, regional firms.
