California releases guidance on protecting healthcare workers from Coronavirus

The California Department of Industrial Relations released guidance on protecting healthcare workers from the Coronavirus.

“It is vital that employers take the necessary steps to protect workers in health care settings where they may be at risk of exposure to 2019 Novel Coronavirus,” said Cal/OSHA Chief Doug Parker.

The Coronavirus is an airborne infectious disease covered by the agency’s “Aerosol Transmissible Diseases” standard, which requires employers to protect workers from such pathogens.

The guidance is available online.
