Premier Health acquires Quebec-based nurse staffing provider

Premier Health of America Inc. (TSX: PHA), a provider of healthcare staffing, acquired Solutions Nursing LFC Inc., a firm that provides nursing staff to northern Canada health organizations and in remote areas of Quebec and Nunavut.

“The acquisition of Solutions Nursing consolidates our market position in Canada’s northern regions,” said Martin Legault, CEO of Montreal-based Premier Health. “In addition, the integration of their recognized training program and its related content on our platform will accelerate online recruiting and training. This is paramount at this stage as we start our Canadian expansion.”

The deal calls for total consideration of C$2.7 million (US$2.2 million) payable in cash. Of that C$1.9 million will be paid at closing and C$800,000 payable over two years subject achievement of EBITDA objectives.

Solutions Nursing trains its personnel to carry out expanded role primary care assignments in isolated communities and in industrial settings such as mines. The company posted revenue of C$4.5 million (US$3.6 million) in its last fiscal year ended Aug. 31. It had net income of C$517,205 (US$415,381).

Founded in 2003, Solutions nursing is based in Lachine, Quebec.
