HCCA Health Connections Inc. and HCCA International, a healthcare staffing firm based in Franklin, Tenn., consolidated all of its business operations under the new name Shearwater Health.

In January, funds managed by New York-based healthcare private equity firm MTS Health Investors LLC completed a strategic equity investment in HCCA. MTS partnered with HCCA’s existing senior management team to provide liquidity to selling shareholders and additional capital to support future growth.

“We have truly evolved as a company, and we felt it was time to express that with a new brand,” said President and CEO David Bartholomew. “We offer a much more comprehensive suite of services than we did just a few years ago.”

HCCA International recruits nurses and other medical professionals from the Philippines for deployment to hospitals and healthcare organizations in the US. Since launching in 2002, it has placed more than 1,000 nurses in more than 100 US hospitals.

HCCA Health Connections provides offshore clinical resources to US healthcare companies. The company also announced it moved its operations center in Manila to a new 70,000 square foot headquarters in Metro Manila to accommodate growth. The company continues to maintain an operations center in Cebu City in the Philippines.
