World – Tech Roundup: Zenjob, Technically Compatible, Sendhelper

22 November 2018

Zenjob, a Berlin-based tech startup for temporary employment, has raised €15 million in Series B financing round, led by AXA Venture Partners. Additional capital investors are current investors Acton Capital Partners, Redalpine, and Atlantic Labs. Zenjob helps large and medium-sized businesses find on-demand student staff with just a few clicks. It supplies companies in different fields (such as the logistics, hotel, events, and retail industries). Students receive real-time job offers directly on their smartphones and can confirm the job offer with just one click in the app.  The capital will be invested in technological product development and the expansion of the business across Germany and beyond. The group also said with its fresh capital invested, the entire process, from job posting and candidate matching to shift management, will be handled automatically by Zenjob's software.

UK-based recruitment technology firm Technically Compatible has secured a £500,000 investment from the North East Venture Fund, supported by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by Mercia Fund Managers. The investment will allow Technically Compatible to more than double in size and create an additional 10 jobs. Established in 2014, Technically Compatible developed an online assessment platform that allows businesses to check the abilities of developers and IT staff, reduce the risk of costly appointment failures and speed up the recruitment process. The group added that this funding enable it to build the management team, step up its sales and marketing activity and provide working capital to support its growth.

Singapore-based tech startup Sendhelper has raised SGD 610,000 (USD 444,378) in seed funding, led by Captii Ventures. The startup plans to use the fresh capital to grow its services in Singapore, expand to other markets, and launch Sendjobs, a business to business (B2B) platform, which has been dubbed as “LinkedIn for blue-collar workers.” Sendjobs will focus on matching employers with jobseekers for non-executive positions in industries such as food and beverage, retail, hospitality, events, logistics and security. Sendjobs will use AI to allow employers to identify suitable candidates to chat with, and hire. "Employers can post as many jobs as they want for free and can hire as many employees at no extra cost; thus, reducing hiring costs by up to 90 per cent," the company stated. Sendhelper is an ecommerce platform for services in Singapore that enables individuals, service providers and households to connect, book and pay for home services.
