World – SIA Executive Forum Europe goes Future Forward today

27 November 2018

Staffing Industry Analysts Executive Forum Europe 2018 is underway today in London. The two-day event challenges the industry to take a long-range view of how to stay competitive and successful into the future, with Future Forward the theme of tomorrow’s conference.

SIA’s Executive Director of Global Research John Nurthen presented the first keynote with a look at future trends of the industry. The session explored the unparalleled changes, radical new technologies, alternative forms of labour supply, evolving methods of contingent procurement, growing skills shortages and challenging geo-political shifts and utilizes SIA’s exclusive research to predict how these trends play out over the next decade.

The keynote session was immediately followed by SIA’s popular facilitated roundtable discussions.

Tomorrow’s conference will start with Keynote Speaker David Rowan, founding Editor-in-chief of WIRED UK and world-renowned expert on future trends, as he looks to where businesses need to Innovate to Prosper: The Impact of Automation on the Staffing Industry, with crucial perspectives on advancing technologies, from machine learning to big data, blockchain to 3D printing and robotics, that are likely to bring both threats and opportunities to the global business environment and the talent marketplace.

Concluding this year’s Executive Forum is The Big Debate: Artificial Intelligence and Other Technologies will Eliminate 50% of All Recruiting Jobs by 2030! This interactive debate-style session argues for and against the dramatic impact AI is likely to have on staffing over the next ten years. The session, moderated by SIA President Barry Asin, features Colin Donnery, CEO, FRS Recruitment and Jason Ezratty, Co-founder, President & Chairman, Brightfield Strategies, for the motion and Jérôme Rieux, Managing Director, Groupe Adéquat and Ann Swain, CEO, APSCo, arguing against such an automation eclipse.

Business leaders named to the 2018 Staffing 100 Europe and the Global Power 150 – Women in Staffing International 50 lists will also be honoured during the conference for their achievements and contributions to the world of work.
