World – Resources Connection revenue rises 20% in fiscal Q3 with Accretive and European acquisitions

Professional staffing provider Resources Connection Inc. (NASD: RECN), which operates as Resources Global Professionals, reported revenue rose 19.9%, or 17.6% in constant currency, in its fiscal third quarter ended 24 February 2018. The increase at the US-based firm was 5.2% when excluding revenue from last year’s acquisitions of Accretive Solutions Inc. and German professional services firm “taskforce - Management on Demand AG.”

Including Accretive operations, US revenue rose approximately 14.9%; excluding Accretive operations, US revenue was flat year over year. International revenue rose 41.4%, up 29.6% constant currency, which the company attributed to strength in its UK, Ireland and Sweden practices. However, European revenue was up 34.4% when excluding the taskforce acquisition.

Asia-Pacific revenue rose 9.4% year over year.

Resources Connection is implementing strategic initiatives to contain costs and drive revenue growth. The third quarter includes approximately $3.6 million related to severance, acquisition, transformation and integration costs, including approximately $700,000 related to severance expenses.

“We achieved strong results this quarter across our three priority focus areas: growing revenue in all geographies, the smooth integration of Accretive and taskforce, and continuing the successful execution of our strategic initiatives,” President and CEO Kate Duchene said. “Our performance demonstrates the positive impact that our acquisitions and strategic initiatives are beginning to have on the business. We remain focused on delivering in all three areas in Q4 to build on our momentum and capitalize on the many growth opportunities ahead.”

In trading yesterday Resources Connection shares closed at $15.80, up 1.94% on the day and 7.06% below its 52-week high of $17.00, set on 11 January 2018. Based on its current share price the company has a market value of $495.72 million.
