The order of the world’s three largest staffing and recruitment firms has changed this year on Staffing Industry Analysts’ Largest Global Staffing Firms 2019 list. Based on combined staffing and place and search revenue, Randstad ranked as the largest in terms of revenue. The Adecco Group ranked second while ManpowerGroup held on to its third place

The full report features the top 100 staffing and recruitment firms worldwide ranked by their 2018 revenue. They had a combined turnover of USD 225 billion in 2018. The top 10 firms account for 25% of total revenue last year, unchanged from 2017, while the top 100 combined represent 46% of the total market, up from 44% in the previous year.

Randstad overtaking The Adecco Group is not the only change at the top of SIA’s rankings. Japanese staffing firm Recruit has moved ahead of the Allegis Group and now sits in fourth place.

Executive Director of Global Research for SIA, John Nurthen said: “The top of our rankings have been unchanged for some years so it is interesting to see this movement amongst the largest staffing firms. But we have also seen a number of new entrants making their first appearance in our rankings.”

Eight companies appear on this year’s list that did not appear on last year’s list. US companies among them include Tradesmen International at No. 66, Addison Group at No. 77 and Medical Solutions at No. 95. Firms in other countries new to the list include France-based Partnaire at No. 92; Japan-based firms Human Holdings and Outsourcing, at Nos. 61 and 32 respectively; and UK-based Resource Solutions Group at No. 78.

Eight companies no longer made the list.

Forty-eight staffing firms on this list are headquartered in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, while 36 are headquartered in North America and 16 in Asia.
