World – People: Harvey Nash, Adcorp, Upwork, Boyden and Bullhorn

Michael Grant, an advisor and associate director at recruitment firm Harvey Nash, has become the new president of the British Computer Society, the chartered institute for IT. Grant joined Harvey Nash nearly five years ago.

Adcorp Holdings Limited (ADR: JNB) reported Kevin Fihrer resigned as company secretary effective 31 May to pursue personal interests. The company is beginning the process of finding replacement candidates.

Upwork Inc. (UPWK:NSQ) announced Adam Ozimek as its chief economist, a new role at the Mountain View, California-based online staffing platform. Most recently, Ozimek was a senior economist at Moody’s Analytics. He holds a PhD in economics from Temple University.

Executive search firm Boyden reported Jörg Kasten was re-elected to a third term as chairman and Trina Gordon was re-elected to another term as president and CEO. Gordon has served as CEO since 2011. In addition, three new members were elected to the company’s global board: Jim Harmon, a managing partner of Boyden Canada; Kjetil Haug-Nodeland, a managing partner of Boyden Norway; and Ulrich “Uli” Schumann, a managing partner of Boyden Germany.

Staffing software provider Bullhorn promoted Gretchen Keefner and Shaun Weise to the roles of regional VPs leading growth in North America, the UK and Ireland. Keefner and Weise both served as managing directors of global accounts before their new roles. Bullhorn also named Gregory LaGarde as a managing director leading an account team serving North American customers. LaGarde was previously an account director. In addition, the Boston-based company appointed Tim O’Brien as managing director leading an account team served customers in the UK; Ireland; and Europe, the Middle East and Africa. O’Brien formerly served as an account director.
