UK staffing firm rescued after administrators secure deal

08 August 2023

A Stafford-based construction staffing agency has been bought out of administration and into one parent firm, safeguarding 1,200 jobs.

PSR Staffing Solutions has acquired the business and assets of PSR Contract Solutions and PSR Group, with all existing employees transferring to the new group. The company is a specialist construction staffing agency providing both contract and permanent jobs since 2005.

With its headquarters located in Stafford, PSR’s 1,200 staff and temporary workers will continue to work under the PSR Solutions brand, after the deal was secured by Matthew Ingram and Elizabeth Welch, joint administrators from Kroll. The joint administrators were advised by DLA Piper and PSR Staffing Solutions were advised by Shoosmiths.

PSR Staffing Solutions is now supported by investment partner Baystone Associates through its portfolio company ISS Labour headed up by Gary Beeston.

Gary Beeston, ISS Labour Group Managing Director commented: “This purchase represents an exciting investment and supports the growth and development aspirations that were at the heart of the ISS Labour management buyout (MBO) in August last year.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside PSR Group and to share the business synergies, management expertise and desire to build a successful and rewarding future for all our employees and stakeholders.”

Craig Cowan, Investment Director Baystone Associates added “We are delighted with this acquisition, creating a combined entity with revenues of £120m. We invested in ISS Labour in 2022 and this transaction is further evidence of our desire to work with and support superb management teams, creating value for all stakeholders.”
