UK — Transport for London announces large public tender for temporary workers

Transport for London (TFL) today announces an e-tender for the procurement of temporary employees in a large variety of capacities. The contract duration is for 36 months (with the option to extend for another 12 months) and is worth an estimated 880 million Pounds.

Transport for London is also responsible for the provision of temporary workers to the Greater London Authority, Metropolitan Police, London Development Authority and London Fire Brigade. TFL is making significant investment in renewing London's Underground system (the oldest metro system in the world) over the next 10 years as well as building a new Crossrail network running East to West across London to be completed by 2017 and other significant infrastructure improvements in time for the 2012 Olympic Games.
