UK – Tony Martin presented with CBE by King Charles III

17 February 2023

Tony Martin CBE (Commander of the British Empire), was awarded his CBE by King Charles III at an investiture at Windsor Castle earlier this week.

Martin was awarded the CBE last June in the Queen’s Jubilee Birthday Honours List for his services to charity.

He spent the majority of his professional life, in the recruitment and staffing industry, and only recently retired as Chairman of Empresaria.

Martin joined the Empresaria Board in 2004 as Chair, following an extensive career in the staffing sector, leading some of the world's largest international staffing companies including Vedior and Select Appointments.

Martin was given the Peter Yessne Staffing Leadership Award by SIA in 2014 in recognition of his achievements as a leader and pioneer in the globalization of professional and specialty staffing businesses.

Following the investiture, Martin said, “It was a great honour to be awarded a CBE by His Majesty King Charles, it was an unforgettable day, and I am very proud to have my work recognised in this way.”

In 2001, Tony Martin set up The Anthony V Martin Charitable Foundation and endowed it solely with his own funds. The Foundation is dedicated to improving animal welfare around the world. It provides financial support to a wide range of charities, large and small, working to save animals from suffering.

The Foundation has assisted in initiating the current Bill going through Parliament, calling for the banning of importing of animal parts, from various African countries. Among his proudest achievements include contributing to the ending of bear bile farming in Vietnam and the practice of destroying rare species in Africa through Trophy Hunting.
