UK – Search Consultancy acquires specialist technology recruiter Henderson Scott

05 September 2018

Glasgow-based recruitment firm Search Consultancy announced that it has acquired Henderson Scott, a specialist provider of executive search and recruitment solutions in technology.

Established in 1999, Henderson Scott’s focuses on six core markets: enterprise architecture, IT infrastructure and data centre, enterprise cloud, digital and business transformation, cyber security and software technology.

The 50+ staff base, under the current leadership team, will continue to grow the Henderson Scott business under its existing brand, operating as part of the newly created Search Group.

According to Search Consultancy, the acquisition gives Search Group a combined revenue of £220 million and EBITDA in excess of £10 million, with more than 750 people across an estate of 17 UK offices.

Search Group CEO Grahame Caswell commented, “This is the first acquisition we have undertaken since Search’s MBO and refinancing. It significantly enhances our capability in the technology space and gives us real market presence in London. Working alongside our existing tech and transformation vertical, we have some of the best expertise in the technology recruitment sector within our group.”

“The converging world of IT continues to present exciting opportunities and with a rapidly expanding cloud market place the acquisition of this highly scalable UK business is a clear strategic fit for the group,” Caswell said.

Henderson Scott CEO Mark Bailey will be joining the Search Board as part of the acquisition.

Bailey commented, ““Backed by the scale of the Search Group, including geographical reach, complementary technology expertise and experience across its verticals, we are very much looking forward to realising our potential as part of the bigger team.”

Search Consultancy opened in Glasgow in 1987 and now has 15 offices, a turnover in excess of £120 million and over 700 employees.
