UK – Recruitment agency switches to four-day working week (The Yorkshire Post)

26 September 2019

Leeds-based recruitment firm is set to roll-out its four-day working week from next Monday onwards, reports The Yorkshire Post. Director Jonny Stewart said the firm has been examining the potential for working fewer days for the past three months and two weeks ago decided to launch a six month trial. Stewart said he is confident of the new work patterns being a success due to the very “outcomes focused” nature of the recruitment business. “Clearly if it doesn’t work for our business then we’ll go back to five days but we’re confident it will not be the case,” Stewart said. Aside from Mondays, which are set aside for meetings, staff will be given flexibility as to what day they would like to take off. However, the business won’t enforce the four-day working week on staff, allowing employees to work five days if they wish to do so. The company specialises in permanent, interim and temporary recruitment across the Health, Social Care, Medical Devices and Life Sciences sectors.
