UK – REC and Croner announce partnership to provide legal insurance for members

28 November 2016

A new partnership between the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and Croner, an employment law solutions services firm, aims to save REC member recruitment agencies up to £10,000 per year.

From 1 January 2017, recruitment firms with a turnover of up to £10 million will automatically receive Croner Legal Expenses Insurance as part of their REC membership. This means that 97% of REC members will benefit from this new offering.

REC members with turnover of more than £10 million will be able to access the same insurance with a minimum 25% discount.

As part of the deal, REC members will receive legal cover for employment disputes, legal defence, tax protection, property protection and personal injury. REC members will also gain access to Croner’s Tax, VAT and Health & Safety Helplines, a business diagnostics tool, and salary benchmarking, plus discounts on a range of other Croner products and services.

Large agencies within REC membership will save £10,000 per annum as part of the new deal. Medium sized businesses can expect a saving of £4,000, and small agencies will gain £1,000 a year.

“The Alliance with Croner means that the REC has dramatically improved its membership offering for 2017,” REC Chief Executive Kevin Green said. “Even a well-run business can find itself faced with the worry and expense of a tribunal case, tax enquiry or legal dispute.”

“We are delighted to be partnering with such a well-respected and professional organisation as the REC,” Alan Price, CEO of Croner Group Limited, said. “The REC has long been a driving force championing the needs of the recruitment industry, whilst Croner has led the way in the field of employment law. The combination of these two organisations makes for an exciting partnership.

"This partnership is one that will enable the REC's members to access a range of Croner's services at a significantly preferential rate. We look forward to developing this relationship for many years to come,” Price said.
