The majority, or 56.7%, of professionals in the UK say that they enjoy their job, however the key drivers behind this vary massively between men and women, according to a study by CV-Library.

The study, which surveyed more than 2,000 UK professionals, found that women feel more joy when they receive praise from their manager (34.1% vs 23.1% of men). At the same time, men feel more joy when they complete a task with no faults (55.1% vs 48.9% of women).

Women were also found to feel more joy when they're helping others (48.7% vs 37% of men). Meanwhile, men feel more joy when they're given a leading role on a project (20.6% vs 16.6% of women).

Alongside this, the data found that 11.4% of women say their job doesn’t bring them any joy, as opposed to 13% of men.

“When it comes to what brings men joy at work, our data suggests that they are more driven by leadership and personal achievements,” CV-Library states.  “On the other hand, the key wins that give women joy at work are centred more around praise and helping others.”
