UK – Investigo appoints new CEO, exec director

17 October 2017

UK recruitment firm Investigo named Nick Baxter as its new CEO and appointed Derek Mackenzie to replace him as executive director of the strategy, change and technology divisions.

Baxter takes over the CEO role from Gary Watson, who will take the deputy chairman position to support the board through the forthcoming MBO and beyond.

Baxter joined Investigo in 2006 to launch the business change and transformation division, and was a key member of the MBO team in 2013.

Mackenzie most recently was managing director of a UK recruitment company where he grew his nationwide teams to comprise over 60 specialist, vertically-aligned recruiters across an expanding network of UK offices. As the newest addition to the Investigo board, Mackenzie will help to drive further growth across the change and strategy divisions, as well enhance the technology offering beyond the SAP practice into new specialist areas.

Haresh Vaya and Paul Collier jwill join Baxter and Mckenzie on the senior management team.

“This marks the beginning of the next exciting chapter for Investigo,” said former CEO Watson. “Since our inception in 2003 we have grown year on year to a turnover of £100m which is testament not only to the repeat business we enjoy with our clients but also our desire to win market share with new clients. Nick has been pivotal to the success of the business and he is the natural next leader who will ensure that Investigo reaches its 2021 mission [to be the market leader in each of its specialism].”

Investigo has six offices and more than 130 recruitment consultants throughout the UK. It provides interim and permanent recruitment solutions to a diverse range companies.
