Health Education England, whose stated aim is ensuring that the workforce of today and tomorrow has the right numbers, skills, values and behaviours, says the health service workforce will need to increase by 190,000 by 2027, the Guardian newspaper reported. The health service workforce stands at 1.4 million now, but ageing and a growing population are creating a greater need for care.
