UK – Hays ranked among leading interviewers in the UK

17 August 2017

Glassdoor UK has unveiled its list of the ’50 Best Places to Interview in 2017’ with international recruitment firm Hays ranked in the top ten of companies.

Hays placed seventh on the list with an interview experience rating of 83%. Interview difficulty at the firm was rated as 3.7 out of 5 with an average interview process of 16 days.

The Glassdoor Candidates' Choice Awards were based on the input of job candidates who voluntarily provided anonymous feedback, by completing an interview review, over the past year.

The top three companies in the ranking were Airbus, Yell and insurance firm, Hiscox.

Job candidates were asked to rate and review their interview experience, including describing the interview process, rating interview difficulty, and sharing interview questions, among other insights from the job interview. Specifically, when rating overall interview experience, candidates are asked to choose from one of three options: positive, negative or no opinion.

John Nurthen, Executive Director, Global Research, commented on the ranking: “While it’s positive to see Hays recognised among the top ten, given interviewing is supposed to be a core area of expertise for any staffing firm, one would have to wonder where are all the others?”

"The interview process is the gateway experience that employers have with a candidate, and you only get one chance to make a great first impression. These employers stand out from the rest for offering a best in class candidate experience that is vital to turning quality candidates into amazing employees," said Carmel Galvin, Glassdoor chief human resources officer. "I congratulate these employers for efficient, effective and innovative interviewing and hiring practices. It's no easy task, but employers who get this right will have the recruiting and business advantage."

Glassdoor has also ranked Hays as fifth in Best Places to Work 2017, Employees’ Choice. The group reported net fee income growth of 7% on a like-for-like (LFL) basis for the fourth quarter ending 30 June 2017.
