View All NewsUK – Demand for hospitality workers rises 46% compared to pre-pandemic levels
Demand for UK hospitality workers has risen by 46% compared to pre-pandemic levels (December 2019), according to an analysis of Office for National Statistics data by Indeed Flex.
Indeed Flex’s data looked at job ads in December 2022 and compared them to ads posted in December 2019.
The data noted that the increase is a pattern repeated across the country, as employers in many sectors struggle to find staff. The biggest jump in demand for hospitality workers is in the North East (106.1%), while Wales reported an increase of 97.8% in job adverts.
Meanwhile, Northern Ireland reported an increase of 77.6% in December 2022 while Scotland saw a 61.3% increase in job adverts.
London had the highest total number of job vacancies, with 10,460 positions advertised online in December 2022, an increase of 26.3% compared to December 2019.
