UK – De Poel awarded contract extension with Mencap

06 April 2016

De Poel Healthcare, the healthcare staffing division of UK-based de Poel, has extended its contract with UK disability charity Mencap until 2017.Originally partnering in 2010, under the renewed £4.5 million agreement, de Poel will deliver more than 350,000 hours worked by Mencap’s temporary workforce. This builds on the £4.2 million agency staffing spend delivered by de Poel in 2015 alone, acquiring temporary workers to provide frontline care to Mencap’s national network of residential and day care services and leisure groups. De Poel will also continue to support Mencap in capturing further areas of their agency staffing spend, which were historically out of scope.

“It is fantastic to be working with Mencap, offering the very best temporary staffing solutions to provide the highest-level of care and support to its network of more than 500 affiliated groups,” Andrew Preston, group managing director of de Poel, said. “We are delighted they have decided to extend the six-year contract for a further year, solely entrusting us with their temporary staffing provision.”

“For Mencap’s support services, our focus is to ensure we empower people with a learning disability to live life as they choose,” Rob Walker, head of resourcing at Mencap, said. “Our ethos has always been underpinned by working with people who share our values and who we trust to deliver excellent care. For the last five years, our partnership with de Poel health+care has been successful as they really understand our organisation and share an aligned vision. We look forward to building on our partnership even further.”
