In a new paper called “Building a Society for all Agesâ€VbCrLf the British government sets out to examine how people can be best supported if they decide to work for longer and how younger people can enter the jobs market for the first time.

In a comment on the report Thomas Hadley, External Relations Director of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation says that “the paper notes that in a 2004 survey, only 10% of 50-69 year olds would want to work full time after they retire. This is a reality our members see every day. Temporary and interim posts allow workers to share their experience with the next generation without having to commit to long hours or sometimes the line management responsibilities which would go with full time work.â€VbCrLf
