UK – Berry Recruitment acquires construction staffing provider

05 September 2018

St. Albans-based staffing firm Berry Recruitment Group acquired Southampton-based CPN Construction Services for an undisclosed fee.

CPN Construction Services, which has been trading for 16 years, has a team of nine at the offices near the docks in Milbrook. It provides both temporary and permanent workers across the country in the white- and blue-collar sectors — from all the trades through to site managers, architects and surveyors.

The business also runs a training centre that provides a variety of courses for its own workers as well as those of clients.

Berry Recruitment reported turnover of £65 million for the full year 2017, and the acquisition will add approximately £6 million, according to the company.

CPN Construction Services will rebrand as Berry Recruitment.

“CPN Construction Services has a fine reputation and a talented team that’s been led by Andy Price, who we’re pleased is staying on,” said Berry Recruitment Managing Director Lee Gamble. “We will rebrand the business and the training centre and invest in order to drive expansion.”

The acquisition is Berry Recruitment’s seventh in the last five years. Last year, it acquired Kent-based Joy Recruitment, which specialises in the construction, white collar, commercial and recruitment-to-recruitment sectors.

Berry Recruitment is a multi-disciplinary recruiter with 40 locations across the country, including a branch in CPN Construction’s port city. Its brands include Berry Recruitment, Wild Recruitment, Express Rail Services and Wild Berry Associates.
