Online recruitment in the UAE fell by 10% during the third quarter of 2019 when compared to the same period last year, according to the latest Monster Employment Index for the UAE.

The index is a monthly gauge of online job hiring activity by Monster.com, which records the industries and occupations that show the highest and lowest growth.

Online hiring in hospitality and travel-related occupations recorded an increase of 37% in Q3. This was followed by the oil and gas sector (19%) and engineering and production (8%).

According to Monster, the rise in the middle-class sector is creating a higher demand for energy and hence increased demand for professionals in the energy sector.
