Temporary workers’ hours in the Netherlands fell 11% in latest ABU report

The total amount of hours worked by temporary workers in the Netherlands fell 11% year over year in the seventh period of 2023 (19 June through 16 July, weeks 25 to 28), according to the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU). Revenue saw no change when compared to the same period a year ago.

ABU noted this period had no changes in the number of working days compared to the prior-year period.

In the administrative sector, the number of hours fell by 16% and turnover fell by 2% compared to the same period last year.

Within the industrial sector, the number of hours decreased by 9% and turnover increased by 2% compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, in the technical sector, the number of hours fell by 9% and turnover increased by 3% compared to the same period last year.
