Switzerland – Temp staffing market down in January

17 March 2017

The number of temporary workers in Switzerland decreased by 5.1% in January compared to the previous year, according to the latest figures from Swiss Staffing, the Swiss Federation for Staffing Companies.

According to Swiss Staffing, it is important not to overestimate this 5.1% decrease as traditionally, January is the weakest month of the year for temporary work. Just a few small changes - weather, for example - could create a big impact. It is possible that heavy snowfall and persistent cold may be the cause of this decline.

Swiss Staffing also looked at the past 12 months and reported a decrease of 0.2% during this period.
