A new report from Page Personnel took a snapshot of temporary staffing in Switzerland with a survey of companies that use temporary workers as well as the workers themselves.

Here is some of what Page Personnel found:

• The average age of temporary workers is 42 years old, 61% have more than 10 years of experience, 70% have a bachelor’s degree or higher, 52% are female and 48% are male.
• On assignment, 61% of temporaries agree their tasks have become more complex; 65% said they are doing more in less time.
• 37% of employers equally recruit temporaries for the same positions that are usually filled with permanent employees.
• Two-thirds of companies that hire temporary staff have less than 500 employees.
• 50% of employers invest in temporaries by providing training.

The survey included responses from 88 managers at companies using temporary staffing and 188 professionals on temporary assignment.
