Switzerland – Most companies affected by lack of qualified candidates

23 June 2016

According to a study by international specialist recruitment firm Robert Walters, 68% of employers surveyed in Switzerland said they are seriously affected by the lack of qualified candidates for vacant or newly created posts.

The study surveyed 150 recruitment companies in Switzerland. It showed that 50% of the companies complained about the lack of regionally available suitable candidates.

The most desired professional candidates were in the fields of Banking/Financial services (42%), Accounting/Finance (34%) and Compliance/Risk /Legal (27%).

"Companies need to try new solutions to recruit new candidates to their company and to promote and keep the already existing professionals in the company,” Nick Dunnett, Director of Robert Walters Germany and Switzerland, said. “The search for candidates via social media channels is a new way to recruit. Many of the respondents, namely 45%, said investment in the training of its employees is an answer to the shortage of skilled labour. "
