The Michael Page Swiss Job Index recorded an increase in job offers of 0.4% between September and October 2016.
The number of vacancies for specialists in tax law and IT specialists recorded an increase of 12.7% and 6.3%, respectively. The index also noted an increased need for facilities management specialists (+ 5.3%) and research (+ 5.3%).
The job categories with the largest monthly increase between 15 September 2016 and 15 October 2016 are:

Charles Franier, Executive Director at Michael Page commented: "In addition to sustained growth in demand for specialists in all sectors, we also note that with the approach of winter, there is a significant need for staff in the construction sector.”
French Switzerland recorded the largest increase (+ 4.8%) in jobs published between September and October 2016, while the Lake Geneva region remains relatively stable (-0.2%). Over the period, the Lake Geneva region has the highest increase in jobs (+ 5.3%).
Eastern Switzerland (+ 1.4%) has in turn driven growth in terms of jobs advertised in German-speaking Switzerland between September and October 2016 and showed a 51.9% year-on-year growth in jobs advertised. It has outperformed all other regions - thanks to a particularly large demand for specialists in engineering, technical and IT, as well as all management support functions.
