Advertised jobs showed a yearly growth of 15.1% across Switzerland from May 2018 to May 2019, according to the Michael Page Swiss Job Index. Monthly growth for advertised jobs across Switzerland decreased by 1.0%.
The German-speaking region, which accounts for 9 out of 10 advertised jobs, experienced a monthly decline in advertised jobs of 1.1% and a year-on-year growth of 13.4%.
The level of advertised jobs in Swiss Romande declined by 0.3% between April and May but grew on a yearly basis by 24.6%.
Insurance roles showed the highest monthly growth followed by specialist in health and life sciences, private banking IT support, as well as transport and logistics.

“We see strong demand for specialists in the health and life sciences sector including chemists and other scientists. The demand for insurance specialist is seasonally driven as is the post-bonus season in private banking”, Nicolai Mikkelsen, Executive Director, Michael Page, said.
The Mid-Region (BE, FR, JU, NE, SO) was the only region to show a positive monthly growth (2.5%).
