Sweden – Poolia appoints CEO for its new subsidiary

18 September 2018

Swedish staffing firm Poolia announced that it has appointed Åsa Bergman-Målbäck as CEO for its newly created and wholly-owned subsidiary Poolia Interim.

The CEO appointment comes at a time when Poolia and Swedish staffing firm Uniflex are completing a merger that will see the two companies form a Nordic staffing powerhouse under the leadership of Uniflex CEO Jan Bengtsson. The newly formed group will continue with the Poolia AB name.

Meanwhile, Poolia’s outgoing CEO Morten Werner earlier this year announced to the Board that he would be stepping down.

“I'm 70 years old next year so it's time to do other things while health is still good,” Werner said.

According to Poolia, Bergman-Målbäck is responsible for driving the expansion of the new company as the need for effective solutions for interim assignments at higher levels continue to grow.

The group stated, “Poolia Interim will become an important and natural complement to the already established executive search activities and our industry-specific specialist areas such as Life Science and Engineering.”

Bergman-Målbäck has more than 20 years in the staffing industry with a background as an HR manager and consultant with experience from both state and private employers. Prior to Poolia she worked at Stockholm-based 4Focus Leadership and Recruitment AB and, before that, worked at Penna Human Capital Management.

Bergman-Målbäck commented, “I am convinced that the labour market change rate will increase with increasing digitisation and new occupational roles. In line with increasing mobility, the need for effective temporary solutions will also grow.”
