Hedera Group AB (HEGR:SS) reported yesterday that net sales rose 1.7% in the first quarter. The Sweden-based provider of medical staffing also announced that it appointed Maria Nordin as CEO. Nordin comes to Hedera from its recently announced acquisition of Addus Care AB; she was owner of the firm. Hedera’s former CEO Bertil Haglund is being put forward for the chairman role; shareholders are scheduled to elect a chairman during the next annual meeting on May 30.
Addus Care, which specializes in nurses is one of two recent acquisitions. Hedera also acquired Ambio Health, which focuses on emergency care services, private healthcare providers and occupational health services.

Haglund noted slightly weak sales. The firm has had a lot of focus on acquisition and integration and will now spend more time on sales and business, he wrote. Haglund also reported the first quarter had proven competitive and it had been difficult to recruit doctors for new assignments.
Shares in Hedera closed down 3.65% on Tuesday to SEK 13.2; the company had a market cap of SEK 57.4 million.
