Spain – Temporary hiring to increase by 6.5% this summer: Randstad

21 May 2019

Randstad estimates that approximately 604,000 temporary contracts will be signed in Spain during the period from June to September 2019, an increase of 6.5% compared to the same period last year. This would be a record-high and would be the seventh consecutive year of growth.

The temporary contracts will be signed within the sectors of commerce, hospitality, transport and entertainment.

All regions across Spain are set to increase hiring during the summer.

Luis Pérez, director of Institutional Relations at Randstad, commented, “Summer is synonymous with good news for employment since it is one of the times that most energise the labour market.”

Perez added that approximately 40% of permanent contracts come from a temporary one.

“In addition, this type of recruitment can be extended and increase the employability of the candidates in order to seek new job opportunities, Perez said.
