Spain – Number of temporary contracts for disabled professionals on the rise: Randstad

The number of contracts signed by professionals with disabilities in Spain exceeded 100,000 for the first time in history, according to the Randstad Foundation.

During the first ten months of the year the hiring of these professionals increased by 1.7% compared to 2018.

When broken down by type of contract, Randstad’s research showed that 81.2%, that is, 81,230 of the contracts, were temporary, this was an increase of 3.5% when compared to the previous year. 18,773 professionals with disabilities signed an indefinite contract in Spain, which represents 18.8% of the total figure. The number of indefinite contracts were down by 5.6%.

María Viver, Director of the Randstad Foundation, said, “Exceeding 100,000 hiring of professionals with disabilities is a very important milestone but we cannot stop working to continue in the positive trend and achieve that indefinite hiring is gaining more and more weight relevant".
