03 January 2019

The majority of Spanish workers believe that artificial intelligence will be a positive development for their employment, according to data from Randstad.

Randstad found that approximately 63% of professionals in Spain believe that artificial intelligence will benefit their employment for the next ten years. The majority of Spanish professionals, or 88%, also said they want to undergo digital training in order to improve their employability.

“During the last five years, the labour market has been affected by digitisation, which has modified the skills, abilities and professional profiles that companies demand,” Randstad Spain stated. “Currently, companies are looking for employees with STEM training (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics ) and digital knowledge.”

Luis Pérez, director of Institutional Relations at Randstad, commented, “Artificial intelligence and its possibilities in the workplace have increased significantly in recent years, which has significantly improved the optimism of workers in the face of new technologies. In this scenario, the acquisition of skills and digital knowledge is positioned as indispensable for professionals.”
